TUESDAY UPDATE ON COLOR OF PASSION EPISODE 110
Milagros takes aim at the woman she believes killed her favorite son, Federico, using the gun he used to take his own life. “Go to hell, b*tch!” Rebeca is frozen in fright on the front steps, and can’t even get a word out from her agape crimson lips. Neither woman notices Nora approach the foot of the other side of the staircase, from the garden. Milagros tries to steady her shaky aim with both hands, dropping her purse to the ground. She fires off a shot. BAM! Nora screams bloody murder, while Rebeca falls into a protective stance, squatting low while clutching her left arm which was grazed by the bullet.
Milagros is at first shaken by what she has done, but then seeing that her work isn’t finished, steadies herself and once again takes aim at Rebeca. Nora begins to beg and plead for her mother’s life. “Don’t do it! She’s my mother! Please!”
Milagros, through her own tears, tells Nora that her mother is responsible for taking her son’s life. And now she has to pay. Nora begs Rebeca to tell her it’s not true, but all Rebeca does is rise back to standing position silently. She then tells Milagros that if she could bring Fede back, she would, and continues weeping as she holds her injured arm. She dares Milagros to kill her in front of her daughter.
Milagros contemplates shooting for another few seconds, then points the gun to the ground and fires, before dropping it. No one on the mean streets of Puebla is drawn to the mansion on this bustling block by the sound of two gunshots, or the sight of three high-class ladies, battling it out with pistols on the front lawn. Milagros departs with a curse for Rebeca, “Divine justice exists, and one day, God will make you suffer what I have suffered!” She picks up her purse and walks out. But Rebeca isn’t off the hook yet. Nora starts yelling at her. “That woman has every right to hate you! How could you do that?! You’re perverse !” (aberrante)
Rebeca gingerly picks up the gun by the tip of the barrel, and another tragedy looks like it might occur at any second, as she and Nora get into a shoving and pulling match before they both precariously make their way up the stairs and into the house. Lucia arrives soon after, and finds Milagros weeping bitter tears outside the gate. “I always knew my son’s killer lived in this house. If I didn’t accept you and Marcelo being together before, now I NEVER will!” She finally goes on her way. Lucia runs inside and is immediately greeted by the angry shouts of Nora, banging on Rebeca’s door and desperately demanding to be let in. Nora tells Lucia what happened, and Lucia admits she already knew, while trying to calm a very agitated Nora down. She finally manages to get Nora to go with her to her room. On the other side of the door, Rebeca hides from Nora, weeps for herself, remembers Fede’s suicide, and asks why God has done this to her.
Rafaela calls Marcelo to tell him about Momster and the gun being missing, after she was acting all creepy and staring at Fede’s ashes. Marcelo becomes alarmed and calls Daniela, interrupting a conversation between her and Alfredo about Ricardo’s death. Alfie lies that he has no idea who killed Ric. When Marcelo’s name pops up on Dani’s phone, Alfie picks up and reminds him to stay the hell away from his daughter. Dani takes the phone and confirms she gave Mili all the dirty details on Rebeca and Fede. Click! She then tells Alfie that she did it because she felt like it, dammit!
Magdalena tells Sara about the sterility bomb Mario dropped on her the evening before. She explains that she was shocked and crushed by the news, and that the two of them spoke about everything but the sterile elephant in the room afterwards. Magda doesn’t think it’s as important to Mario as it is to her, because he was always saying that it didn’t matter to him if they had a child or not. “And do you need to have a child to be happy with him? If the answer is no, and that you really love your husband, then the least you should do is tell him so. He must be feeling terribly guilty, and he has no reason to.”
Mario is getting equally wise advice from Samuel. He is indeed feeling guilty and feeling like things between him and Magda will never be the same again. Samuel tells him to drop the guilt and give Magda time.
Rebeca’s bandaged up and in a fresh shirt, when she finally lets Lucia into her room. Lucia tells her to woman-up and talk to Nora—tell her the truth and calm her down. “The truth is the only thing you have left, Aunt.”
Marcelo and Lucia speak outside, on the stairs where the crime was committed. He’s come to warn her that Mili’s got a gun, and knows the truth. Lucia tells him he’s too late, and points out the blood stains at their feet. Lucia is panicked about how this is all affecting Nora’s mental health. She shares with Marcelo that Nora’s crisis the day before was not due to their interrupted nuptials, but because Nora has a BIG problem to confront. Roman told her, but didn’t give her the details. Lucia is worried that something really bad has been set in motion, that none of them can halt. Marcelo naively says that nothing worse than what’s already happened can happen. (There are two more weeks’ worth of tragedy in store you and us, Marcelito.) Lucia has no idea where Mili wandered off to…
But Padre Samuel has found Mili bawling and sniveling in the Church, lamenting the fact that she couldn’t kill that damn woman. The unflappable Samuel takes this admission of frustrated murder in stride, and tells her that perhaps her dead son illuminated her at the last minute, and prevented her from committing the crime. Mili doesn’t believe the dead intercede in that way. Samuel points out that she has another son. He advises her to put her vengeance aside, and focus her love and attention on her living son. Mili says she isn’t important to her other son—if so, he would have told her about the woman who killed her son.
At the fabrica, Amador tries to intimidate Nazario into getting the workers to fulfill the order for Provedora de Centro. Naz can barely be bothered to give Amador side eye. He gives Amador some blah blah about quality control and the proper way to do things. Amador thinks Naz is putting on airs, now that he has the shares Alonso gifted him, and moves on to threats. “One of these days…” “One of this days, what?! Are you going to make me disappear, like you did with my wife?!” Amador continues to deny, deny, deny. Naz knows that once Vini is caught, he’ll sing like a bird, and Naz will be right there to see Amador drown in his own filth!
Rebeca takes Lucia’s advice and goes to speak to Nora. Nora says that when she heard what had happened to Marcelo’s brother, she imagined everything, except that the woman would turn out to be Rebeca. She’s ashamed to be her daughter. Rebeca tries to play the, your father didn’t love me and I was frustrated, card. But Nora’s not having it. Now she knows why Rebeca was always against her or Lucia being with Marcelo. Rebeca admits that she feels relieved now that Nora knows, but Nora says she feels destroyed. Rebeca begs her not to be so hard on her—Nora has also done bad things that hurt others . “You’re right. You and I are the same. Everyone who gets involved with us, dies.” Nora falls into her bed weeping, and Rebeca leaves to cry more tears for herself.
Padre Samuel has called Marcelo to come pick up his murderous mama. He advises Marcelo to let his mother know that she’s important to him. Marcelo points out to Mili the huge problems she would have been in, had she succeeded in killing Rebeca. Mili doesn’t give a damn, and again curses Lucia since she shares the same blood as Rebeca. Marcelo doesn’t prolong the argument and takes the Momster back to Mexico City.
Lucia finds Nora back out on the front stairs. Nora asks if Lucia would really do anything for her. She begs Lucia to take her far away from her mother. Lucia asks if she’s sure that’s what she wants. Nora is positive. She doesn’t trust Rebeca anymore. She’s making her sick! Just like with the hatred she made Nora feel for Lucia. Nora starts to freak out, and Lucia walks her further away from the house to avoid the prying ears of Rebeca (who they don’t know has left). Remembering that her little sister is likely a killer, and not wanting to take responsibility for helping her become a fugitive from the law, Lucia suggests that they speak to Roman first, and get his recommendations about taking a trip outside of Puebla. She tells Nora that she knows there is something big Nora needs to resolve, but she promises she will help Nora. They just need to do things the right way.
Meanwhile, Rebeca is trying to shift the blame for her problems, as usual, and is chewing out Alfie about Dani telling Mili the truth. Alfie’s tired of it. He tells Rebeca that she can’t keep burying her head in the sand/trying to cover the sun with one finger (tapar el sol con un dedo). Mili would have found out eventually anyway. He is surprised to learn that Nora witnessed the confrontation, and asks how she took it. He softens when Rebeca tearfully tells him that Nora is losing her admiration for her, and advises her to give it time. “Like you told me—I’m starting to pay for all the things I’ve done. But I’m paying with the thing that hurts me the most.” (Yeah. That’s how Karma works, Rebeca.)
Magda has been waiting for Mario in his office for hours when he arrives. She gets right to it, and admits that the news just caught her by surprise and she didn’t know what to say. She always thought that if they couldn’t get pregnant, it would have been because of her. Mario admits that he thought the same, and never thought the problem would be him. Magda says it doesn’t matter to her, and repeats his own words to him about being happy, with or without kids. What matters to her is being with HIM. She also brings up Trini and Naz as an example, as he once did. Mario still feels guilty. Magda brings up all the other ways things might not have worked out. For example, a pregnancy might have been dangerous/difficult at her age. Mario knows she’s just trying to make him feel better. Magda once again tells him that it doesn’t matter to her, then seals it with a tender kiss.
Lucia confronts Rebeca when she gets home. She points out that Rebeca didn’t dare tell Nora ALL the dirt—about the other men, her lover Alfie, the fact that Rebeca used Adriana’s name. She then twists the knife by telling Rebeca that Nora wants to get far away from her. Lucia defiantly tells her that she won’t turn her back on her sister. She informs Rebeca that Nora went to have a session with Roman, and seems really committed this time. Rebeca collapses onto the stairs, and once again weeps tears of self-pity.
In their session, Roman points out that what Nora wants to do is run away (huir), instead of stay and confront her problems (and a murder rap) as they had agreed. “I told you that I am NOT going to the police! No way will I turn myself in!” Roman tells her that she at least needs to work through it (in therapy), and running away won’t help. Nora says that all she needs to do is get far away from her mother, and Lucia has promised to help her. Roman reminds her of the first time she came to session, when she told him that her ONLY problem in life was named Lucia. What’s changed? “I don’t know. Perhaps because I don’t have anyone else.”
Nazario makes Normita’s day by remembering it’s her birthday and giving her a flower. In the past, Alonso and Trini would remember and give her gifts. Nazario invites her for a homemade dinner at his place.
Marcelo and Momster finally arrive at her house in D.F. He asks for the gun, and she nonchalantly says she left it at that beyotch’s house. What?! She mopes up to her room, and Marcelo gives Rafa a quick update on the frustrated murder attempt, and equally frustrated wedding attempt. Things got complicated and he and Lucia have to resolve more important things first. One of those things is finding a suitable permanent resting place for Fede’s ashes, instead of Mili’s creepy altar of obsession in the dining room. Rafa agrees.
Rebeca’s moved her pity party for one to Nora’s bed, so she can immediately start guilt tripping Nora about wanting to ditch her, as soon as she enters the room. “ If you hate me so much, why did you defend me when Marcelo’s momster tried to kill me?” “Because I didn’t want to carry that on my conscience. I have enough with Ricardo Marquez, who died because he was talking smack about you.” Rebeca urges her to forget Ric, but Nora can neither forget him, nor the things he said about Rebeca—that she’s a dangerous woman, capable of killing. “Was he speaking about Marcelo’s brother, or are you carrying another murder on your conscience?”
Rebeca begs her to stop, but Nora can’t stop the doubts that have now taken over her thoughts. “ The only thing I’ve done is love and protect you, your whole life. In spite of having to step over (pasar por encima) whoever it took…It’s obvious that you didn’t appreciate it. If you leave this house, you leave forever! And I swear to God, that you’ll have to forget that you ever had a mother!”
Marcelo and Lucia speak on the phone to catch up about their stressful days. Lucia decides to wait until he’s back in Puebla to tell him the latest on Nora. Marcelo assures her that he’s sure Momster #1 isn’t going to try to kill Momster #2 again. He then tells her that Plot Gun has gone rouge once again in her house—either Nora or Rebeca has it. Lucia needs to try to retrieve it, so he can get rid of it once and for all. (Yeah, we know how well that turned out for Lucia last time…)
Rafaela brings Momster dinner in bed, and gets chewed out for not telling Mili long ago about Rebeca. She gets up in Rafa’s face and confronts her about thinking she’s been a better mother to Fede and Marcelo than Mili has. “You are just a servant, and NOTHING more! Children get attached to their nannies, and that’s unfortunately something no one can avoid.” Rafa knows it’s useless arguing with crazy, so she points out there’s no reason for Mili to be such a beyotch, and turns to leave. Mili’s spoiling for a fight though, and if it can’t be a duel to the death with Rebeca at high noon with pistols, it’s going to be a drag-down/knock-out with Rafaela at midnight. She grabs Rafa’s arm and turns her around to continue the argument. Rafa refuses to fight, and tries once again to leave. Mili drags her back with even more force, and says it ain’t over till she says it’s over! She calls Rafa out for being haughty and not knowing her place, and then starts to shake her violently. Rafa tries to get away from her, and the fight goes to the hallway. Poor Rafa looks terrified, as Mili takes her shoulders and pushes her up against the bannister at the top of the stairs. She shoves a little too hard, Rafa loses her balance and goes tumbling all the way down the narrow but steep staircase of doom, hitting her head on the final step!
