TUESDAY UPDATE ON JHANSI KI RANI EPISODE 258-259
Samar Singh and Karma find Laxmi Bai standing on the banks of the river unable to decide if she should only mother Gangadhar Rao's child or be a mother to the kingdom of Jhansi as well.
Samar Singh tells Laxmi Bai that the British battalion is marching towards Jhansi for its posting there. He exhorts her to lead a rebellion against them.
However, this time Laxmi Bai says that she has left behind her role as a revolutionary and will only be seen as a mother now. Samar Singh tries to make her understand the importance of the mission but this time the Queen in undeterred.
Meanwhile, Gangadhar Rao receives a letter from Nelson about the posting of the British battalion. He summons him to court for an explanation. Nelson says that Fort Williams has decided to post a battalion due to the poor law and order situation in Jhansi. Nelson cites the example of how Laxmi Bai rescued the prisoners from British custody inspite of Gangadhar Rao's orders to arrest them. Gangadhar Rao is left with no option but to succumb to Nelson.
When Laxmi Bai returns to the palace, Gangadhar Rao throws the orders in to her face and accuses her of being responsible for the posting of the British battalion. He says that because of her act the British will now engulf Jhansi too.
Before leaving, Gangadhar Rao taunts Laxmi Bai saying that it is no longer important to him whether she decides in favor of bearing his child or not. Laxmi Bai is further distraught hearing this.
Meanwhile, Samar Singh and Karma decide to lead a rebellion to stop the British battalion from reaching Jhansi. They decide to kill the troops using explosives.
Distraught with Gangadhar Rao accusations that she has failed as a Queen as well as a mother, Laxmi Bai makes up her mind to leave the palace and go away.
Laxmi Bai realizes that walking away from the situation is not the solution. She decides to stay on and fight.
Gangadhar Rao orders Pradhan Mantri to inform the British that he will himself inspect the battalion that is being posted in Jhansi. He asks Raghunath to make preparations for his departure.
Meanwhile, Samar Singh and Karma get to the task of making handmade explosives. They decide to surround the battalion and blow up the troops.
Daimaa sees them making the explosives and informs Laxmi Bai about it. Realizing that blowing up the battalion will further tarnish Gangadhar Rao's image in the eyes of the British, Laxmi Bai decides to tell the King about it.
Gangadhar Rao reaches for the inspection of the battalion. He sees the arms and ammunition that the battalion is carrying and comments that all of these are not required to protect Jhansi.
Just then, Samar Singh and Karma attack the battalion with explosives. The troops start running helter skelter. Laxmi Bai also manages to reach the spot at that time to tell Gangadhar Rao about Samar Singh and Karma's plans.
Seeing her there, Gangadhar Rao thinks that she has led the rebellion again. He says that she finally decided against mothering her child and continuing her role as a revolutionary. Laxmi Bai tries to explain but Gangadhar Rao refuses to listen.
The story takes a surprise twist when Samar Singh and Karma start shouting anti-British slogans and allow themselves to be arrested. They fall at the feet of Gangadhar Rao and tell him that Laxmi Bai is innocent and that they have led the rebellion. They plead to Gangadhar Rao to not misunderstand his wife. The British whip Samar Singh and Karma black and blue but the duo continues to plead to Gangadhar Rao.
Laxmi Bai is unable to bear the whipping and is pained but Gangadhar Rai remains unmoved.
Nelson drags Samar Singh and Karma through the streets of Jhansi to show people the consequence of being a revolutionary against the British. However, Samar Singh and Karma seem undeterred . They shout out to the people that this is their way of protesting peacefully.
An Englishman John Lang who runs an English newspaper The Moffusilite in India writes about Samar Singh and Karma's peaceful protests. The newspaper article reaches far and wide and becomes the talk of the town in English circles.
On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Laxmi Bai reaches the British camp with written permission to meet Samar Singh and Karma. Nelson smirks and allows her in. Laxmi Bai is aghast at the dire state of the duo. Within merely 24 hours of their arrest, Nelson had brutally beaten them up and locked them inside a coffin to suffocate. Laxmi Bai gets angry seeing the atrocities on them.
Nelson sees Lang's articles against him and gets livid. He angrily tosses the newspaper which lands up with Laxmi Bai. Nelson taunts her saying that he can read out the newspaper to Laxmi Bai as she must have never got the time to pursue education.
Hearing him, Laxmi Bai retorts in chaste English that she is more educated than him and will now take the help of an Englishman to teach another Englishman a lesson. Nelson and Malcolm are stunned hearing Laxmi Bai.
Laxmi Bai finds more articles written by Lang. The articles have covered each of Laxmi Bai's missions as a revolutionary and have praised her bravery. She expresses her desire to Tatya Tope to meet Lang so that she can save Samar Singh and Karma using Lang's newspaper reach. Meanwhile, Pradhan Mantriji apprises Gangadhar Rao of the communication that they have been receiving from their neighboring kingdoms expressing their concern over the posting of British battalion in Jhansi. One of the kings even blames the irresponsible behavior of Laxmi Bai for the downfall of Jhansi. Gangadhar Rao gets upset reading the comments.
Nelson proposes to Samar Singh and Karma that they should testify the role of Laxmi Bai in freeing them in the guise of a villager to Fort William. However, Samar Singh refuses and spits on him in disgust . Karma too mocks at Nelson. Angry at the duo, Nelson brutally tortures them till they fall down unconscious.
Laxmi Bai and Tatya Tope meet John Lang. Laxmi Bai requests Lang to help them in exposing Nelson's atrocities against Samar Singh and Karma in his newspaper. She tells him that she wants to save the two by taking help from the British law. John agrees to help her.
Meanwhile, Gangadhar Rao asks Raghunath about Laxmi Bai's whereabouts. Raghunath answers that Laxmi Bai has stepped out with Tatya Tope. Gangadhar Rao orders him to find out more.
Lang requests Laxmi Bai to arrange for him a modest place where he will be able to work in privacy and secrecy. Laxmi Bai tells him that she will seek permission from Gangadhar Rao to host him in the palace.
Gangadhar Rao hears a dispute that reaches his court. One of the persons says that he is angry at another man who said that Jhansi will soon be under British rule as the kingdom has no heir. Raghunath and Pradhan Mantri get angry hearing this and pull out their swords. But Gangadhar Rao stops them saying that each person from his kingdom has the right to have their opinion. He taunts Laxmi Bai saying that the British battalion in Jhansi was invited by irresponsible hosts from Jhansi.
Laxmi Bai gets upset hearing the King's words. Just then, Tatya Tope informs Laxmi Bai that the Britishers have tortured Samar Singh and Karma to the maximum and that even John Lang was not safe outside. Hearing this, Laxmi Bai orders Tatya to immediately fetch Lang to the palace
