TUESDAY UPDATE ON THREE SIDES OF ANA EPISODE 82
Our ever scheming Ana Le figures it’s not very convenient for Santicelo in either of his incarnations to meet with Ev, especially in light of all this info she recently received on Ev’ involvement in all of her beeswax, so she asks Abue to exclude her marido from this conversation. Abue could go either way, as she reasons perhaps it could jolt Marcelo’s memory and suddenly Santicelo appears from behind in his Marcelo updo. He heard Ev’s name being mentioned and Erni is pleasantly surprised he remembers Ev. Marcelo says it’s a great idea to invite Ev and incidentally he is remembering a lot of things, like the fact that he found out Ana Lu was alive and to stop him from delivering that news, someone orchestrated this accident. When he finds out the culprit, he will have no mercy on them. (Incidentally, he is speaking to Erni with a familiar ‘tu’). Ana Le looks like she wishes she had a strong drink nearby or someone to push off the building to calm her nerves.
Tin and Ratmundo (I like this nick for him!) are discussing Valeria’s predicament. Llora is already on her way and Tin knows that Valeria is innocent. He is also wondering why Ratmundo pretended to not recognize him. Surely Ratmundo at least remembers Gina, who was Tin’s girlfriend and his own son’s fiancé. Ratmundo fakes a flash of sudden recognition and insincerely laments about the wheelchair. What Tin wants to know is whether Ramiro knows that Ratmundo is working for the puppet master Evaristo. Ratmundo is about to threaten him with something unspeakable, but Tin calms him down – they are both on the same side.
Ana Le is outside remembering asking Daniel if he would help with a hit on Marcelo and receiving news from Ev over the phone that the job has been completed. Marcelo – still in his jaguar mode – sneaks up on her. He wants to take her out to celebrate their reunion and she should wear this new dress she bought. Ana Le is apprehensive – she does not know which of his personalities she is speaking to. What does Marcelo remember? Everything, he says, including how she makes him feel. He kisses her while his own flashback is that of Ev telling him Ana Le is behind the murder plan as he was hitting him with over the head.
Ana Le now needs this dress altered for the dinner and Viridiana received a call to send Sole to the house. Sole almost breaks down in hysterics, as this is the last place she wants to go, but ultimately is convinced.
Mariano remembers a fight with Gina, who was intent on telling Jennifer everything about Mariano – it was only just that Mariano loses Jennifer, when Gina lost Ramiro. Gina called TioM simply a wallet to her, while Ramiro was the love of her life. Now Gina will destroy Mariano. Mariano is of a different opinion – Gina is a prostitute and a thief, and she has only herself to blame for her misfortunes. If she even tries to expose him, he will kill her.
Inaki came to the cemetery to Daniel’s crypt and is remembering the murder scene. Tadeo shows up, and thinks Inaki is there because there is some good in him, and he is sorry to see his brother dead. Tadeo doesn’t believe Inaki was going to donate a piece of his liver just for money, he is a good boy and Tadeo will continue insisting and tolerating everything Inaki does, because he believes Inaki will redeem himself. Inaki doesn’t think so. He is here because here lies the boy that his mother gave everything up for, who she left them for and never looked back. They spent their entire lives crying for her and it’s time to dry off those tears. He wishes for Daniel to burn in hell and leaves. Julietta watches from afar.
Valeria is pleading her case with Llora and Ramiro. They both believe her that she would not steal money from the foundation she dedicated her life to. Ramiro also thinks that his father should know that, having worked with her all this time and it’s outrageous the way he treated her. Ramiro will talk to him and in the meantime Llora already canceled their family reunion dinner with Evaristo.
Trembling Soledad arrives at the mansion and Marcelo opens the door! Finally we meet, he says, when she confuses him for Santi, and Soledad realizes she is in trouble. What is she doing here, asks Marcelo? Did she come to demand explanation on why he told Ana Lu about Sofia? Soledad was busy trying to map the emergency exits and wasn’t even thinking about it, but while they are on the subject – how could he?? Well, Marcelo reminds her that one day he told her that he will see to it that she goes to jail. In the middle of this conversation, Ana Le comes downstairs. Finally, the seamstress, she’s been waiting long enough! Now Soledad can wait as well, while Ana Le and Marcelo confer.
Ana Le lets him know Llora called to cancel the family dinner with Evaristo. Marcelo is sorry, he was looking forward to it. Ana Le thinks it might help her case if she points out how much she always disliked Ev. Well, no matter – she needs to see the seamstress and Marcelo needs to leave. Where is he going? Not to his mistress, if that’s what she thinks (we can see his nose growing as the words come out of his mouth). He will take the car and he reminds her of their dinner plans. He needs her to look stunning. As he walks away, we are unsure if he meant stunning or stunned – because one of those she already is.
Sole is deep in her own memories of Sofia’s funeral and finding Ana Lu in the water, when Ana Le rudely interrupts this, outraged that the seamstress dares to touch their belongings, and takes her upstairs. She spends the next several scenes there getting a slow realization of what we could have told her all along – that dress is ugly. As this fact dawns on her, she doesn’t lose the opportunity to note that it is probably perhaps Viridiana is busy chasing men instead of paying attention to the boutique.
Sole is just trying to get the work done and leave and looks she is losing it between Ana Le’s screams and sarcastic demeaning comments. Sole is brought to tears and it seems that this torture will never be over. Finally when they are done, she counts her blessings and tries to scamper away, when she is stopped in her tracks by Erni coming into the room and mentioning the dinner and Ana Lucia. Ana Le and Erni discuss the progress on the investigation – there isn’t much, but something the investigator wants to tell them personally. Sole listens intently. Ana Le tells Erni she is looking forward to Ana Lu’s return, but Erni needs to promise to not love Ana Le any less. In any case, if they don’t have any luck locating the missing sister, Ana Le will happily occupy her place in everyone’s hearts (we never had any doubt, our little murderess).
Ramiro is at Ratmundo’s trying to convince him that Valeria is innocent. They trusted her all these years. Ratmundo feigns outrage – how could she betray the family like that? Ram points out that it could have been someone with the access and the password, which – by the way – only Valeria and Ratmundo have. Surely Ram does not suspect his own father, says Ratmundo, and besides – there is a witness that Valeria was in the office late right before the transfer. Who is this witness? It is Tin! Well now everything is clear to Ramiro – Tin is behind it. Whatever the truth, Ratmundo has his reputation to protect and needs to call the police. Ramiro asks for some time – the Rat wanted them to get along better and this is the opportunity.
Tin and Llora are chatting about Valeria – they are sure she is innocent, but Tin does not think that the foundation will survive this hit and Valeria may go to jail. He thinks they will figure it out though. Llora moves on to console Valeria and Ram comes in to report that he bargained a couple of days to investigation, though with the condition that Valeria will resign and leave.
Triple scene of triples getting ready for their dates – and what do you know, at least two of them are with the same man!
Llora gets to Ramiro’s. They chat about Valeria, while Llora seems to be in physical pain. Ramiro suggests she takes the prosthesis off and Llora is hesitant. She is afraid his perception of her will change, but he brushes this off – he loves her just the way she is. Right as they are about to put this insecurity to bed, Ramiro’s phone rings and it’s….Gina, or what appears to be Gina in any case! She tells him she is staying in some hotel and gives him the room number. Ramiro is incredulous, but gives no explanation to Llora, except to say that he needs to drop her off with Valeria and run out for an emergency.
Meanwhile at the hotel, the woman who placed the call – and is NOT Gina – looks very pleased she pulled it off. She gets some money from a faceless man dressed in black leather, and is then strangled for her efforts.
Ramiro arrives to the hotel, enters and hears Gina’s voice on replay on the phone. Continuing with his naïve streak, he touches the phone to turn the recording off (and will forget to wipe the prints later I am sure). He comes into the bathroom and the dead woman is there in the tub, exactly as Gina was found. He turns around and is startled to see Tin, who claims that he received the same call. Just as they start making sense of all of this and Ram ventures a hypothesis that Gina’s assassin is setting them up, in comes a third player – our blue eyed TioM.
Marcelo and Ana Lu are chatting at the restaurant table. He is grateful she is here, though Ana Lu is unsure how to feel. Who is he now – Santi, Marcelo? Whoever he is, he sees Ana Le come in and moves in to kiss Ana Lu. Ana Le, in turn, observes this and slowly recognizes the woman, mirror image of herself: Ana Lucia!
