Laxmibai chases Ali Baha dhur and chops off his hand to punish him.
Lord Dalhousie is disappointed by Laxmibai's success in foiling his plans. Dalhousie decides to renew his efforts knowing well that East India Company will not be able to rule India if it fails to annex Jhansi.
Going through Gangadhar Rao's letters and other belongings, Laxmibai learns that her husband had lost all hopes to live after Damodar's death. She also learns that Gangadhar Rao was confident about Jhansi's future with Laxmibai at the helm.
Laxmibai decides not to immerse Gangadhar Rao's ashes until she drives away British from Jhansi. She also vows not to spare anyone who betrays her Jhansi.
To create problems for Laxmibai and Jhansi, Dalhousie summons a British official
Laxmibai addresses her subjects in the December 15episode of Jhansi Ki Rani aired on Zee TV. She reiterates her resolve to drive the British away from Jhansi and safeguard Jhansi's independence till her last breath. Laxmibai also vows not to spare anyone who betrays Jhansi.
Shyam Chaudhary and other money lenders, who had supported Ali Bahadur against Gangadhar Rao, meet Laxmibai and plead for mercy. The moneylenders offer financial support to Laxmibai.
Moropant reminds Laxmibai about a ritual which Anand had to perform for the peace of Gangadhar Rao's soul. Laxmibai asks him to carry on with the ritual.
Laxmibai takes Gangadhar Rao's ashes to Damodar's grave. Gangadhar Rao's words resonate in her mind and she imagines talking to her husband. Gangadhar Rao assures Laxmibai that she was not alone and Anand was a part of her life. He also warns Laxmibai that she had to protect Anand.
Moropant and Tatya Tope help Anand perform the rituals in a jungle. During the ritual, Anand spots a goat and runs after the animal. When they realize the Prince's absence, Moropant and Tataya Tope get worried.
A British officer, while passing through the jungle, spots Anand crying in the forest. Meanwhile, Laxmibai learns about Anand getting lost in the jungle and joins Tataya Tope and Moropant in searching for the Prince.
From Anand's attire, the British officer realizes that the child is none other than Anand, the Prince of Jhansi. With malicious intent, the British officer lets loose a pack of dogs on the child
Major Ellis rescues Anand from the malevolent British officer who had let loose his dogs on Anand.
When Major Ellis questions the officer about his identity, he learns that the British official's name was Robert Hamilton, the political resident of Jhansi.
Laxmibai is forlorn and frustrated after Anand goes missing. However, her mood changes when Sunder informs her that Major Ellis had brought Anand home. Laxmibai rushes to meet Anand.
Major Ellis informs Laxmibai about Hamilton's arrival in Jhansi. He also informs her about the treaty signed by Gangadhar Rao with Lord Dalhousie according to which the commissionary rights of Jhansi had been handed over to the East India Company. He also informs her that Hamilton had planted the Company's flag in the kingdom.
A concerned Major Ellis warns the Queen that Hamilton was expected to take some action since the throne was vacant. Laxmibai informs Major Ellis that she would soon coronate Anand as the King.
When Hamilton meets Laxmibai, he insults her. In response to Hamilton's comment that Jhansi did not have a king, Laxmibai declares that Anand was the future monarch, a fact accepted even by Major Ellis.
Hamilton produces a document which overrules Major Ellis's acceptance of Anand as the King. The British official also shows Laxmibai the orders to annex Jhansi and asks her to leave the kingdom on the spot. Laxmibai tears the document and declares she would never leave Jhansi.
Hamilton asks Laxmibai to leave the kingdom peacefully and accept whatever the Company offered in return. Laxmibai, Tatya Tope and others get agitated and try to attack the British official.
Major Ellis intervenes and informs Laxmibai that only the queen of England could amend the decision. Laxmibai states that if the queen of England would not amend the Company's decision, she would declare war on the Company.
