TUESDAY UPDATE ON THREE SIDES OF ANA EPISODE 110
Mariano tries to get AnaLu to change her mind about avoiding the family. If she won't stay at the mansion, she could at least come to his house so he can make up for lost time with her. She won't do it. She doesn't know where she'll go - maybe San Nicolas for a while. He wants her to travel the world. She'll think about it. No, she agrees - as long as Soledad can get out of jail. Mariano doesn't want to let a criminal get away with her crimes. AnaLu says although it's not easy to forgive her, she can't hate Soledad and won't let Mariano speak that way of the woman who gave her such a good and happy life. And if Mariano won't do it, AnaLu will still have the help of Viridiana!
At the jail, Valeria's getting out tomorrow, she tells Soledad. Soledad is happy for her. Val says she won't forget her, and will talk to the family on her behalf. Soledad says nah, I'll just rot here in jail. I've lost my freedom forever, but I'll always have my memories of AnaLu's childhood.
Leonor tells Ernestina of Ana Laura's temper tantrum. She didn't go off with a driver - she took one of the cars. This is alarming, because she's never driven, but Leo says Laura reminded her that Uncle Mariano taught her to drive and she's not as useless as everyone thinks!
Ramiro is fiddling with his phone at home, trying to reach his useless fiancee, when his doorbell rings. Is it Ana Laura? No, it's Maribel. Naturally, he lets her in, paving the way for a dumb misunderstanding that I'm sure will take place later in this episode. (He leaves the door wide open.) She tells him about Orlando attacking Javier. She's afraid. He tells her to wait at the rooming-house. She says he looks like he's been crying. He says he needs to be alone, but she doesn't want to leave him. After all, he's always been around when she needed him, and she's only too happy to return the favor. It's the least she can do for her superhero.
Ramiro tells Maribel (in his typically incoherent narrative style) about his father's suicide. He's caused nothing but trouble for his parents. They're both dead because of him, and he's not good for anyone. She takes his face in her hands, assures him it isn't so, and says he's the best man in the world.
Out in the hallway, the elevator bell rings. Maribel is saying "I love you" and kissing Ramiro, and he is holding her face (for comfort, and not to push her away) JUST as Laura walks in, having successfully navigated the streets of Mexico City without incident. Great, now I have to recap a really annoying argument. I can hardly wait.
Mariano goes to Viridiana's place and give her a hard time about meddling in family affairs. Viri thinks the least she can do is pay for a lawyer for Soledad. "You're not going to do that," he says, and he roughly grabs her and kisses her. She reacts poorly - and by that I mean that she doesn't punch him in the nads. No, she leans into the kiss. Or maybe she'll like it for now, then punch him in the nads a little later. That's an annoying telenovela cliche.
Ana Leticia meets Iñaki in the woods, looking like herself again. She complains about her "boring" makeover, although Iñaki thinks AnaLu is very pretty. He finally gets the chance to tell AnaLet what's going on - someone has video of them dumping Isidro's body. It's the same guy who showed Marcelo photos of the two of them going in and out of hotels. AnaLet is hearing all of this for the first time, and she is aghast, especially at the fact that Marcelo knows they are lovers.
AnaLu visits Remedios in the hospital. Rem happily informs that Santiago has just stepped out for some coffee and will be right back. (I'm confused, I thought he was Marcelo last time.) AnaLu panics and says she'll be back in half an hour - and please don't tell him she was here. But her escape is foiled when she runs into Santi in the hallway. Nope, he's Marcelo. "Disappointed?" he asks. No, she admits she's relieved that Santi isn't here. She's in love with Santi, but she doesn't feel anything for Marcelo. This surprises him. He moves to within kissing range and asks, if she feels nothing, why is she looking like that? She says he's making her "nervous." Heh, yeah, he makes me "nervous" too.
He asks if it bothers her when he looks at her lips. "I am not your wife," she says through gritted teeth. "I know," he replies. "Unlike Santiago, I've never confused the two of you." "You love your wife," she reminds him. Marcelo clarifies, he loved her intensely and also hated her with all his might. "But now I'm in front of you, nervous, and getting lost in your eyes. You can't imagine how much I envy Santiago right now for having won the love of a woman like you, Ana Lucia."
They almost kiss. Maybe they will kiss, but right now we're back in the forest with AnaLet and Iñaki. (Holy cow! She's wearing long pants. I didn't know she owned any.) Iñaki thinks he was confronted by Marcelo, but AnaLet assures him that since he's still alive, he must have been talking to Santi - not Marcelo.
Back to the hospital! "I need to kiss you," Marcelo tells AnaLu. "Don't you dare," she counters unconvincingly. She doesn't pull away from him, but she does hold him off with a single finger of protest. She admits that he has the same eyes, the same face, the same skin as Santi - but he's not Santi. He never will be.
Now we're at Viri's place, and I'm sad to report that no nad-punching has taken place. They are sitting on the sofa. He apologizes, and she says one kiss won't solve everything. He asks why she changed towards him. She says she thought she was in love, but she realized he wasn't the man she needed. But she wants to help his nieces. AnaLu is in so much pain, and Ana Laura has stolen her heart. As for Ana Leticia - Viri clears her throat delicately - Viri's been reading about schizophrenia, and -
But Mariano doesn't want to hear about that. Viri insists, AnaLet isn't well and she needs help. He cuts her off. "It was a mistake, my coming here. Don't come near my nieces - none of the three."
At the hospital, AnaLu tells Marcelo she knows Santi signed the divorce papers - because Mariano made him do it. But AnaLet didn't and she won't. Marcelo insists that their marriage is over. AnaLu says her relationship with Santi is done too. "Let's not talk about them," Marcelo says. "It's you and I who are here," he says. But AnaLu's not in love with Marcelo.
Marcelo reminds AnaLu that Santi doesn't really exist. He's a part of Marcelo who will eventually fade away. AnaLu points out that AnaLet DOES exist. She's his wife, her sister. And AnaLu doesn't like the kind of person that Marcelo is. Marcelo says she doesn't know him. Neither does Santiago. AnaLu says he's a murderer. Marcelo grabs her and says yes, he's an extremely dangerous man, and she's his next victim, "because I will kill you - WITH LOVE."
Now we're in the woods again. Iñaki's laughing at AnaLet for falling for SantiMarc's little dual-personality game. She insists that it's for real - and Santi is a lot more fun than Iñaki. Iñaki says he's more than just a toy. "If you say so," she replies noncommittally. He reminds her that they're getting married when she's a free woman. Offended, she slaps his face and punches him in the solar plexus - a trick she ought to teach to the other women in her circle.
Ah! Here we go. After clearly enjoying Marcelo's kiss, AnaLu pulls away and slaps him. "Don't you dare kiss me! I'm warning you!" Er, too late, AnaLu. I don't think she's fooling him, either!
And here we go again - Ramiro asks Ana Laura to let him explain. SLAP! YEAH! It's that triplets thing happening again!
Maribel intervenes and says it was all her fault. Laura slaps her, too. "Who is this chick?" she asks Ramiro. He introduces Maribel as a "friend." Actually, Maribel introduces herself and is right in the middle of explaining that she's the best friend of - "Ana Lucia," Ana Laura finishes for her. Now Ramiro thinks he understands why he's in the doghouse, but he doesn't know the half of it. "Ana Lucia is Marcelo's lover, and this chick is yours," is how Ana Laura has connected the dots.
AnaLu asks Marcelo to stop complicating her life. Marcelo sits and says he's just trying to stop Santiago from stealing his life. He's been trying so hard to get vengeance and now he realizes that aside from hostility, he's got nothing and no one. He's totally alone. He feels dead inside. But with one kiss she managed to accomplish something he hasn't been able to: now he feels alive.
Iñaki tells AnaLet not to hit him again, so she slaps him again. "Don't provoke me," he warns angrily. "Whatcha gonna do, kill me like you killed your brother?" she taunts. "Will you kill me like you did Jennifer?" he retorts. They start making out, but Orlando interrupts them and tells them to get a hotel. (Something tells me they'll wish they had.) He wants his money. Iñaki won't give him any. (AnaLet hisses nervously at him.) He tells Orlando to hand over the recording, and that will be the end of it.
AnaLet really wants to give Orlando the money, but Iñaki would rather beat Orlando to death for hitting Javier. "Try it," Orlando teases, "but I didn't come alone." AnaLet glances around nervously.
Ramiro asks Maribel to go home so he can talk to his novia. Ana Laura says there's no need for Maribel to leave - they're through. She throws the ring on the floor. But Ramiro grabs her (what's with all the manhandling tonight?) and Maribel takes the opportunity to scurry out, thoughtfully closing the door behind her. Ramiro and Ana Laura are both upset, and failing to communicate.
She wants to know what went wrong on their big night together. She ignores his protests; "we know very well what was missing," she accuses. She announces that they are done forever. She twists from his grasp and slams the door on her way out.
AnaLu tells Marcelo about her proposed world tour. She wonders if she'll ever get over all this pain. Crying, he takes her hand and asks her not to go and abandon him now. She tells him not to speak to her that way. He says, if she really knew him, she'd know how hard it was for him to overcome his pride and be so vulnerable in front of her. He begs her to listen to him, but she doesn't want to. However, she does have something to say to Santiago. She leans in close and says she's getting out of his life forever. It doesn't matter if he's getting divorced; there's no way they can have a future together. But she wants to know that since the first day she saw him, only he lives in her heart, and she will love him for all of her life.
Iñaki thinks Orlando is bluffing about having reinforcements. Orlando urges him to find out. AnaLet steps in and says she's always known that Orlando was someone's minion ( achichincle), but never could figure out whose - until now, meeting him in this particular place, she realizes that it must have been Evaristo who got Orlando to follow her. Where is he?
"Don Evaristo is dead," Facundo declares, stepping out of the shadows. He explains that Evaristo had a powerful, invincible enemy - "the years." (That was the great enemy. All of us who guessed Rodrigo, we were wrong, apparently.) Evaristo never really worked for Marcelo. He reported to Facundo! And now Facundo is here to settle up with her on Ev's behalf.
"I'm not alone, hah!" Orlando crows, just before Facundo shoots him dead. Orlando falls to the ground with his eyes wide open, his face frozen in surprise. Ana Let freaks out and tries to hide behind Iñaki, who struggles to keep his own composure. Facundo ignores Iñaki and tells AnaLet he knows that it was at this very spot that she ordered Marcelo's death. She denies it.
Iñaki tries to smooth things over with Facundo, but foolishly refers to Marcelo as "Santiago," which does not help at all. Facundo shoots him as well, and we hear his body tumble down the hill.
Facundo tells the thoroughly traumatized AnaLet that it was a poor way to save her marriage, being photographed going to a hotel with that jackass. Now she's going to get in her car and go home. She'll be followed, so she'd better obey. She can cry about her dead lover all night long, and when she's dried her tears, they'll discuss her "priorities."
Facundo glances meaningfully down the hill and tells AnaLet that his "people" will take care of cleaning up the "trash." He offers her his arm to lead her back to her car.
Morning. Ana Laura sobs in her bed for Ramiro. AnaLet hugs her pillow and cries about Iñaki. AnaLu sits by Remedio's bed and moans over Marcelo (that's right, not Santiago, but Marcelo).
Ramiro is pondering over his father's closed casket as Rodrigo and Marcelo chat. Ramiro didn't want anyone else to be notified. He's alone, mourning someone who's like a stranger to him. They think Ana Laura should be here, but they don't want to upset Ernestina, with her weakened heart. Ratmundo worked for her for many years. On the subject of Facundo, Rodrigo's lawyers are working on his arrest. Marcelo doesn't think he'll be easy to find. He doesn't know where his father is, but he won't be able to hide from Marcelo for very long.
Ana Laura tells herself to stop crying. Leonor shows up with the orange juice. She's worried that Laura is still mad at her. Laura tries to throw her out of the room, but she doesn't have a leg to stand on... um... sorry about that. Leonor says that Grandma is worried about Laura. Laura coldly asks how she's doing. Turns out Grandma got dressed and went to her study, but the doctor sent her back to rest. Laura says she'll go to see her, after she takes a shower, which she will do by herself because she's not useless and she doesn't need Leonor's help! I know she's trying to be defiant and independent, but she sounds like a brat.
Leonor has an equally miserable good-morning chat with AnaLet. She just wants to talk, but AnaLet thinks she's being offered Ana Laura's leftover orange juice, and after cutting down her great-aunt for still being a servant, she tries to kick her out. As AnaLet's hairspray wafts into Leonor's face, Leonor says that her own position in this household won't change.
Remedios is going home today. AnaLu tries to do Rem's hair and makeup, but Rem doesn't want any. She wants to know what AnaLu and Santi talked about last night. AnaLu ruefully reports that it was Marcelo last night. Rem says they're both the same to her now. He's trying to put himself back together, and then AnaLu will love him as Rem does. AnaLu is skeptical that Santi and Marcelo can reconcile.
Rem is sad that AnaLu will be moving out soon, to live with her family. But AnaLu says she's going away on a trip with her uncle and grandmother and doesn't know for how long. She asks Rem to take care of Soledad when she gets out of jail. "Soledad's in jail??" poor Rem asks.
Mariano goes to the jail to tell Soledad that AnaLu wants her to be released. He objects to Soledad referring to AnaLu as "my daughter," but Soledad maintains that AnaLu will always be her daughter, even if it sickens Mariano to hear it. Whatever, Mariano says she can get out of jail if she promises to disappear. Only under his conditions can she get out (there may be more conditions, which we don't get to hear).
AnaLet goes to Iñaki's apartment and knocks and rings the doorbell frantically. She tries his phone and gets the "out of range or turned off" message. She begins banging her head against the wall, scolding herself that he's dead and she didn't do anything about it. She asks herself, why does it hurt so much?
The elevator dings. It's Marcelo. "Tell me, my love, did you spend the night with your new lover?
