TUESDAY UPDATE ON GANGAA ON ZEEWORLD
Ganga teases Sagar if he was worried for her. He denies. She continues to tease him. I will go back to ashram then. He stops her. You wont go anywhere. You will stay here for forever. You will stay with me only. She knows he felt bad when she said that he isn’t her friend. I had to say so just because I could stay in the competition. He nods. She asks him if he is still upset with her. She denies. She teasingly follows him to tickle him. They enjoy a sweet moment. Right then, Niru calls out for Ganga. She excitedly goes out to see him. He has brought a cycle for her. Sagar feels bad as she dint see his card.
Prabha complains all the while giving Raman his things as he gets ready for office. He talks romantically to her but she is not interested. He attends a call. She notices the money in
wallet. She takes it out when he is busy on the call. He leaves for office without noticing the missing cash. Prabha is very happy now. I will rule in Ginny’s party now.
Ganga thinks of the competition in her village where she had won the cycle. It was still given to Munakka. Ganga thinks of her Bappa. Niru asks her if she dint like it. She says it is very nice. You are just like my Bappa. You take care of me. Amma ji comes out to see why Niru was making so much commotion. Ganga shows her the bicycle. Sagar looks at his card. Amma ji asks Niru how much more he will spoil Ganga. Niru replies that good people deserve gifts when they achieve something big. Now Ganga will go to school on her cycle only. Ganga shows her cycle to Sagar. He points out that she dint value his gift as it wasn’t expensive. She says sorry to him. I got excited seeing it. I don’t want expensive things. Babu brought it for me. He understands me so well, not you. I loved cycle since always. My Bappa’s memories are attached with it. Why will you understand though? Sagar brings Ganga upstairs. He has brought something for her. Ganga realises that he has brought jalebis for her. He nods. He offers them to her. She refuses to eat them. You don’t remember that I don’t eat any of such stuff? Amma ji has clearly told me against it. He offers to stand guard so Dadi does not catch her. She cannot cheat anyone or lie to anyone. I am seeing it atleast. I don’t do all this. He shares that he had to go far to buy it. I used money from piggy bank. She stays put. You don’t understand anything that I say. This irks him all the more. He leaves. She thinks that she upset him but she was right. He does not understand anything that I say. She looks at the jalebis.
Sagar asks his father if it is too difficult to understand girls. Niru laughs hearing his question. Make the girls believe that they are important for you. Ask for their suggestion. Sadly, there are very few people in our society who make women believe that they are strong enough to take good decisions, to support them; and that they are equal to men. Sagar realises that that is why he asks his mother to do it every morning. Madhvi comes to ask money from Niru. He simply asks her to take it from the wallet. NIru points the same to Sagar.
Sagar peeks in at Ganga. She is drying clothes in the balcony. He loudly speaks to himself in his room. I don’t know what to wear. Ganga comes to see what he is doing. He asks for her suggestion on what to wear. She sits down to check them all out. She picks one for him. he appreciates her for being too smart. I would have continued to think about what to wear if I was in your place. She offers to do it for him every day from now onwards. He thinks that his plan worked. She begins to set his wardrobe right. He also tells her that she doesn’t have to ask for money from Madhvi anymore. I will give you. He gives her his piggy bank. She reminds him of how he earlier used to ask her not to touch his stuff. He changes his statement. You can take anything you want. You don’t even have to ask me about it. I enjoy meeting such broad minded people. It looks like we can bring about a lot of changes in the society. Madhvi asks him if he finds her thoughts old. Niru denies. Niru comes to a restaurant with Madhvi, Barkha, Ganga and Sagar. Madhvi looks at Niru and Barkha as they talk happily to each other. Ganga notices Sagar staring at her. he brought a gift for me but dint give it to me. sagar is sure Ganga is still upset with him like always. She still isn’t talking to me. massi is right. I will have to learn it all from papa. Niru places the order. Barkha says Didi did not order anything. Niru shares that he is the one who orders food every time. She never gets out of the house so she isn’t used to it. Madhvi feels bad. Niru goes to washroom. Barkha eats ice cream from Sagar’s bowl. He refuses to share it with anyone but Barkha insists. Two guys sitting on the next table pass cheap remarks on Barkha. Barkha gets up to teach them a lesson. Madhvi stops her. It will be a big drama if your Jiju comes now. Barkha gives fitting reply to the guys. Niru hears the commotion. He threatens the guy of jail. They finally leave. Niru asks Barkha what happened. He reprimands Madhvi for not saying anything to the guys. It is wrong to stay quiet while witnessing something wrong. I had told you against coming here. She reminds him that they come here all the time. He says it is different today. Barkha is with us today. This upsets Madhvi. You will go to bad places with me and want to go to a nice place because Barkha is here? Am I not good enough to be taken to a good place? She stops Barkha from speaking in between them. Niru asks Madhvi to talk properly but she walks out saying she does not want to stay here anymore. Ganga has never seen Bahu ji like this. What happened to her suddenly? They all head home as well.
Niru stops Madhvi when she is heading upstairs. Madhvi sends Barkha and the kids upstairs. Niru questions Madhvi as to why she created a drama in the restaurant. She says do you expect me to sit down and hear how backward I am. I don’t know how to behave in a good place. I am old fashioned? I need to learn a lot from my own little sister? Amma ji tries to find out the matter. Madhvi tells her to ask her son. He finds everything wrong. He finds mistake in everything that I do. He thinks I cannot speak against wrong. Is it sensible thing to engage in a fight with random people in today’s date? He is busy in court all the time. We women stay alone in the house. No one else will also respect me. Amma ji tries to calm them both but in vain. Niru asks Madhvi what wrong he did by saving Barkha from the goons that he has to hear all that. What is she still doing here if he and his house didn’t give her respect that she deserves? Why doesn’t she leave the house? Madhvi and Amma ji are stunned. Ganga hears it too. Babu is throwing Bahu ji out of home? Amma ji scolds Niru for talking nonsense. Niru goes upstairs. His words echo in Madhvi’s head. I should leave the house? She breaks down. Amma ji tries to comfort her. Ganga decides to make things better between Babu and Bahu ji. I will not let them separate. I will have to do something about Barkha Massi too. Barkha meets Madhvi on the stairs. She asks Madhvi if she spoke to Niru. Madhvi replies that she does not want to talk to her right now. She goes upstairs. Amma ji and Ganga too avoid her.
Sagar cannot understand why mummy fought with papa. He dint do anything wrong. If I was old like papa and someone was troubling Massi then I too would have fought like him. what’s his fault? Ganga asks him if he thinks Bahu ji is wrong. Babu was wrong in asking her to leave the house. Babu always says the right thing but he used wrong words today. it all happened because of Barkha Massi. She is very bad. Sagar takes Barkha Massi’s side. She dint do anything wrong. Why are you blaming her? They fight over girls and boys issue.
Madhvi comes to her room. She is in tears. Niru looks at her but then walks away without saying anything to her.
Ganga thinks of doing something. I wont let Bahu ji go anywhere. Sagar is sure his mumma wont go anywhere. Don’t use your brains or you will mess up something. Let me think what to do. Barkha asks her sister if something happened between her and Jijz. She gets a call again. She rushes out to ask Niru for
lift. He agrees. They both leave together. Ganga and Madhvi notice the sad / upset look on Madhvi’s face. Ganga walks up to her. I too dint like Barkha Didi’s short hair. Madhvi points out that Babu liked them. She leaves from there. Ganga gets an idea. This means Babu likes short hairs.
Pulkit is happily chatting with Saloni on his computer. Sagar reads his chat from behind. I love you Saloni! Pulkit is surprised. He holds him and pulls him to bed. When did you come? Its wrong to read someone else’s messages. Sagar teases him. He agrees to keep quiet when Pulkit stares at him pointedly. How will you make Saloni Di happy? She is angry with you at the moment. Pulkit is thinking on the same matter. Girls like gifts a lot. I will send a gift to her of her choice along with a gift card. Girls are very simple. They get happy by little things. I am going to take bath. Don’t read my messages from next time onwards. Sagar agrees. He thinks of Pulkit’s words. Small things make girls happy. Then Ganga?
Ginny welcomes her friends. They notice Prabha entering. Prabha is wearing a bright coloured saree. Ginny’s friends indirectly mock Prabha on her clothes and purse. Ginny diverts Prabha. They are only joking. The ladies sit down to play cards. Meanwhile, they all talk about the gifts that their husbands will be giving them on this Karwachauth. Prabha lies to them as they have been talking about diamonds, a house, and a car. She knows the reality. I am not going to get even a gajra!
A girl has come to Chaturvedi Sadan to give beauty parlour services to Madhvi. Ganga thinks of Niru’s remark in the morning. She asks the girl if she knows how to cut hairs. The girl nods. Madhvi asks Ganga who wants a haircut. Ganga thinks that Bahu ji will have to do this much to make Babu happy.
In the market, Sagar asks his papa to buy a gift for mom. She was crying as you spoke badly to her. You should get her a gift. Niru knows that he got a little too carried away in his anger last night. I hurt Madhvi. Sagar repeats Pulkit’s dialogues to him. They reach a jewellery shop.
Madhvi does not want to cut her hair short. The girl suggests trimming them. Madhvi agrees for hair trimming. Don’t cut them too short. She sits down on a chair. Ganga thinks that her plan will succeed.
Niru selects a Vani Mala for Madhvi’s long hairs. Sagar teases his father on it. On the other hand, Ganga gets Madhvi a haircut. Niru calculates the length of Madhvi’s hair. Sagar knows that his father loves his mother’s long hairs. Niru asks the shopkeeper to pack the Veni Mala for him. Niru loves Madhvi’s long hairs. He smiles as he thinks of her.
The girl gives Madhvi a proper hairdo after the haircut. Madhvi is shocked to see her short hair.
Prabha serves dinner to Raman. She asks him about the gift that he will be giving her on Karwachauth. I want a diamond set. He reasons that they cannot afford such expensive things. They end up fighting over this matter.
Madhvi blames herself for her short hair. Ganga compliments her on her new look. Why are you tensed? Babu likes short hairs. He complimented Barkha Massi. Madhvi reasons that there is a difference between her and Barkha. She hears a car honk and gets tensed. Ganga keeps boosting her morale.
Madhvi covers her hairs using her saree. Sagar takes Ganga outside so his parents can have some time alone. Both Niru and Madhvi say sorry to each other for last night. They both have a surprise for one another. Madhvi shows him her new haircut. Niru does not look happy.
Ganga tells Sagar that she got Madhvi a haircut. Sagar points out that papa likes long hairs. He had even brought Veni Mala for mumma. He likes long hairs. How will mumma wear it now? I had told you not to use brains. Papa likes long hairs. How will mumma wear them now?
Niru looks at Madhvi in shock. She gets tensed. He asks her why she cut her hair. Right then Barkha comes there. She has got extensions done in her hair especially for Diwali. She loves Madhvi’s new look. Niru declines. It does not suit her. She looks weird. He walks out of the room. Madhvi gets sad.
Ganga apologizes to Madhvi. I thought Babu will like your short hair. Amma ji drops a glass seeing Madhvi’s short hair. She scolds Madhvi. Madhvi tries to explain her stance but Amma ji pays no heed to her reasons. You can do anything that you wish! There is no reason to listen to Amma ji! Ganga accepts her mistake. Don’t scold her. I asked that girl to cut Bahu ji’s hairs as per today’s fashion. I thought Babu likes short hairs. He will get happy seeing her thus and they both will patch up. Madhvi realises that Ganga joined hands with that beautician. You cheated me! Who asked for your help? Are you happy now? Amma ji is fed up of all the drama in the house. Madhvi says I was mad to fall for your words Ganga. Babu got all the more upset with me instead. He dint like my short hair. Ganga shares that Babu brought a gift for her long hairs. A Veni Mala! Madhvi rushes upstairs.
Madhvi smiles seeing the Veni Mala. Sagar and Ganga are there as well. Ganga says Babu got angry as he brought this for your long hair. Sagar later told me that Babu likes your long hairs but I got them cut. Madhvi is not angry anymore. My hairs will grow once again. I am happy as Babu still thinks of me. Niru calls out for Maharaj ji. She sends the kids out. Don’t tell Babu that I know about it. He wanted to surprise me so now he himself will give it to me.
The kids hide behind the door to see what happens next. Niru goes inside his room. He lies down to sleep without saying anything to Madhvi. Ganga and Sagar want to see Madhvi and Niru happy together. Madhvi apologizes to Niru. I dint know you will not like my short hair. They will grow back again. He ignores her completely and switches off the lights.
Next morning, a few ladies come to Chaturvedi Sadan on the occasion of Sargi. Madhvi is getting ready too. She looks in the drawer for the Veni Mala but does not find it there. Maybe he wants to give it to me himself.
Raman very sweetly brings fruits for Prabha. She is still upset with him for last night. She wants expensive gifts but he says love is more important than money. He lovingly feeds her with his own hands. She goes to Madhvi’s house every year but is not going today. Everyone mocks my inexpensive clothes and jewellery. He gives up. He gives her the fees for Yash’s school. Please submit it in school today. She looks at the bundle of cash.
Amma ji, Sagar and Ganga are happy to see Madhvi finally smiling. Mehri and Maharaj ji bring sargi for all the ladies. Mehri tells Ganga about the fast. Amma ji gets a little emotional thinking of her past. Madhvi is about to eat a jalebi when Barkha holds her hand. She eats that one. Madhvi asks her if she is keeping a fast. Barkha nods. Madhvi points out that only married women keep this fast. Who are you keeping it for? Barkha agrees to tell her later. She asks Maharaj ji to bring a plate for her as well. Madhvi notices the Vani Mala in her hair. Her smile fades. Sagar and Ganga also notice the Veni Mala in Barkha’s hairs. Niru comes downstairs while talking on phone. Barkha eats the food happily. Her words resound in Madhvi’s head. Ganga decides to talk directly to Babu.
Madhvi pulls Barkha aside. Who are you keeping this fast for? Barkha asks her to be a little patient, atleast till evening. I came to Banaras for him only. My parents don’t know about him as the situation is a little complicated. She says the word marriage. Madhvi asks her if the guy is from a different background. Don’t you trust me? Barkha wants the guy to come out before everyone by evening. That is his ultimatum. If he is strong enough to stand by my side then it will be good. Madhvi wonders if she doubts her sister for no reason. But that Veni Mala in her hair? Niru brought it for me. Why did he give it to her then?

with so much love but she got a haircut. It was of no use for her. It is better that someone uses it. This is why I gave it to Barkha. Ganga says it was wrong. Bahu ji was so happy to see it. Niru is surprised to know that Madhvi knew about the Veni Mala. Ganga also tells him that she got Bahu ji a haircut. She got all worried about your reaction. You complimented Barkha Massi for her short hair. I thought you like short hair. Niru says Barkha and Madhvi are two different people. Sagar adds that Ganga did it all for you only. You scolded mom. She was sad. Now she is all the more sad to see the Veni Mala in Barkha Massi’s hair. Please say sorry to her or talk to her. She will feel good. Niru thinks of giving Madhvi a better surprise now so she smiles again. Don’t worry, I will give her such a surprise tonight that all her sadness will go away. I wont let your mom or Bahu ji stay upset. I will also apologize to her but don’t say anything to her as of now. The kids happily promise him.
Mehri is keeping a fast today so Maharaj ji has to do all the work by himself.
Barkha joins all the ladies. She also gets henna on her hands. Amma ji is irked to see her so excited for the occasion which is actually celebrated by married women. Madhvi is puzzled. The ladies call out for Madhvi to join them. Amma ji advises her to celebrate the occasion with an open mind. Madhvi sits down next to Barkha. Barkha’s phone rings. She cannot hold the phone because of the henna in her hands. Niru holds the phone near her ear so she can talk. Madhvi observes them from far. Ganga looks at all the ladies from upstairs. Niru keeps Barkha’s dupatta in place as it slips from her shoulder. Barkha holds her phone between her ear and shoulder so he leaves. Madhvi feels bad. Ganga comes down excitedly. She looks at the colourful bangles on the table and also notices henna cones kept nearby. She picks up one and runs away to another corner of the house.
Amma ji holds Ganga’s hand as she tries to apply henna in one of her hands. She calls it inauspicious! A widow can’t even touch it. Women dress up and beautify themselves for their husbands. Those, whose husbands are dead, cannot do any of it. Clean it as hard as you have to! I should see no such colour in your hand. I dint bring you back here so you can do as you please. If you do anything like this again or disobey me, then I will throw you out of the house! Sagar feels bad for Ganga. Dadi scolded her so much on such a small issue. Why can she not put henna in her hands? Why can she not do anything as per her wish? Ganga sadly looks at her hands. Sagar takes her out with him.
Prabha has bought diamond necklace for herself using the money that Raman had given her for Yash’s school fees. She gets Raman’s call but doesn’t pick it up. She is unsure of her decision for a second but then blames Raman for not taking care of her. I got a miser and useless husband.
Sagar has brought Ganga to a local bangle shop. Buy anything that you want to. I have decided to fulfil all your wishes. Ganga gets super happy. She shares that before him only her Bappa had got her bangles. He took her out to make her happy. I made a promise to myself the day you poured away your Bappa’s ashes. Now I will support you and take care of all your needs. Everyone gets a gift on Karwachauth. You too should get one. Ganga thinks of Amma ji’s words. A widow cannot do anything as their husband is dead. I cannot put henna or buy these bangles or keep a fast! She sits by a tree. Sagar thinks of what to do now. I brought her out to surprise her or to make her happy. He notices a pundit ji talking to a married woman about Karwachauth. He goes to talk to him. Can only a married woman keep a fast? No widow can keep it? Pundit ji says a widow can keep a fast too while thinking of Kanha ji as her husband. Sagar thanks him. Sagar smiles looking at the bangles.
Sagar walks up to where Ganga is sitting. Now you too can keep this fast. Pundit ji told me that a widow can accept Kanha ji as her husband. Ganga asks him if he is saying the truth. Kanha ji is the husband of a widow? He affirms. I have heard Dadi say the same. Ganga decides to keep the fast for Kanha ji. Amma ji too wont get upset then. He gifts her red bangles. He makes her wear them all in both her hands. Ganga is all smiles. She excitedly plays with her bangles. He shows her the henna cone. He put henna in her hands. Ganga shows him her hands and makes sound with the bangles. He is happy to see her happy. I will also eat with you. She knows that he might not be able to do it. He will not eat anything, he says. You too will feel hungry if you see me eating something. I am doing such a big sacrifice for you. They talk cutely over it.
